I would like to open a task and start at timer (or stopwatch). This would serve several purposes.

1. Keep me aware of how much time I'm spending on any one task (hyper-focus anyone?)
2. Allow me to capture how much time a task actually requires. (eg. I allow 1:30 for paying bills twice a month, but I'm fairly sure it takes me more time)
3. If the "project plan" format (ie. task tree) makes a come-back, you can account for how much time is truly spending in each area.
4. On-going tasks that cover several days or weeks could be managed better.

Suggestion: Add a "stopwatch" or "timer" icon to any task window when opened. It's seems reasonable to me to only allow one timer running at any given time. Then retain that "time" as a data element of that task. It could be cleared and started over, or started again (continued) from the previous point.

Interesting idea. Once upon a time, Skoach actually did have a timer pretty much as you describe. It was taken out to simplify the interface, but other users have also asked to bring back the timer. Here's what it used to look like:

I would also like the timer to be added back in. That was one of the reasons I decided to try Skoach again. I don't think I'll be paying for Skoach unless they bring back the timer.
